Sacramento, CA – The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) California released the following statement from Roxanne Sanchez, President of SEIU Local 1021 and SEIU California, on the Governor’s proposed budget:
“California’s budget choices have profound effects on the lives of Californians, and we welcome a budget that builds a foundation for every Californian’s success. The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) California released the following statement from SEIU California and SEIU 1021 President Roxanne Sanchez on the decision in Texas v. US:
City of Hayward And SEIU Local 1021 Reach Settlement to Repay City Employees After 2014-15 Contract Imposition
The City of Hayward and Service Employees International Union Local 1021 jointly announce an agreement to settle a dispute over negotiating practices stemming from when the City imposed employment contract terms in February 2014.
The City and SEIU Local 1021 believe the settlement to be in the best interest of the parties and the Hayward community, and that it reflects a spirit of mutual good will and significantly improved labor-management relations. As part of the agreement, the City admits no fault.

More than 2,200 City of Oakland Workers Represented by SEIU 1021 Ratify Contract with the City of Oakland
Bringing more than ten months of bargaining to a close, the Oakland City workers represented by SEIU Local 1021 ratified a two-year contract with the City of Oakland on Friday, February 23.
With provisions that increase worker safety, provide cost of living adjustments, and address the working conditions of police and fire communications dispatchers, the contract takes steps to improve public services to Oakland residents and businesses.
