RESPONSIBILITIES: Will work with the Organizing staff to implement the organizing plan of the Local Union. Identify and recruit worker leaders who want to organize to join the union. Responsible for evaluation of potential organizing targets, direct contact with unorganized workers, development of leadership and structure of organizing campaigns, as well as the conduct of organizing drives and representation elections. Mobilize union members to support new organizing. This is not a 9 to 5 job – long and varied hours, with early morning, evening and weekend work, as necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting directly to the Executive Director (Lead Director), this position assists, advises and represents the Local on behalf of the Executive Director; and the successful candidate will:

Work with the Executive Director to build organizational capacity for strategic planning, growing the union, building internal and external relationships and advancing SEIU programs consistent with the local’s Vision for Power.

Act as liaison between the Executive Director and others within the organization.
