We’re Making Progress Toward a Strong New Contract With Alameda County, but We Aren’t Done Yet!
Keep An Eye Out for Our Upcoming Strike Vote!

Article

After multiple actions, including a big rally on Tuesday, where we took our members to the fifth floor of the County Admin Building to make some noise about our demand for a FAIR CONTRACT NOW!, we are seeing some significant progress at the bargaining table.

But to get what we need from management — a fair COLA and other policies that help us recruit and retain skilled, dedicated workers, no increased healthcare costs, an end to the County’s contracting out, protections against AI, and health and safety improvements for all of us, workers and County residents alike – we need to keep the pressure on.

If we’re going to win, the County has to know that we’re serious and united in our demands. That’s why we have been asking, “Are you ready and willing to go on strike?”  We’ve heard you, loud and clear: You’ve told us you ARE ready, willing, and able to strike for what’s right, and that’s why, in coming weeks, we are planning an official Strike Vote, to give our Bargaining Team the authority to call for a strike, if necessary.

Stay tuned! When we fight, we win!
