Highlights of Our Tentative Agreement with Alameda County Management

Term: Three Years (Expires January 13, 2029)

Across-the-Board COLA and Bonuses (for All Employees)

• 4% in year one, retroactive to September 13, paid after the Board of Supervisors approves the contract
• 3% in year two
• 3% in year three
• $750 bonus (pro-rated for part-time workers)

Equity Adjustments 

• Many classifications will receive pay increases on top of their COLA

Salary Equalization Adjustments 

• Our salary steps have been revised so that all steps will be 5% apart
• As a result of this change, nearly 100 classifications will receive a small positive salary adjustment in addition to their COLA

Other Financial Improvements:

• Increased bilingual pay
• Increased uniform allowance
• Increased educational stipend

Healthcare Benefits

• NO CHANGE: For the second contract in a row, County management fought to get our members to pay more for their healthcare as their number-one priority for bargaining, but we stuck together and fought them off 
• Members will continue to pay 12%, the County will continue to pay 88%
• The County tried to increase co-pays for ER visits to $200: we fought this off as well

Other Improvements

• NEW health and safety language, with a right to refuse an unsafe assignment
• Expanded bereavement leave rights
• Greater access to telework
• Protections against AI
• And more!
