If you’re an SEIU 1021 member, you may have received a text message or email recently about union-sponsored education programs available through SEIU 1021 and the Education Fund.
Available programs and services
Through 2025, this partnership will support 1,000 members in Education Fund programs for tuition support and career pathways for high-need healthcare, public health, and community health roles.
Our Career Pathways programs focus on providing members with the knowledge and skills they need to move into a new role. These programs cover full tuition under certain conditions.
Our goal is to build labor-management partnership to solve workforce needs and to advance grant participants’ careers through training and job placement.
Planned programs include:
- Tuition Support (learn more below)
- Prerequisite courses
- Career Pathways, including: LVN, Community Health Worker, Behavioral Health, Sterile Processing, RN-BSN (Specific programs will vary with each county.)
- Career Advice – 1:1 with one of our Career Counselors
- Need-based laptop usage
- Childcare and eldercare stipend
Get help paying for your education with Tuition Support
SEIU 1021 and the Education Fund are excited to offer up to $5,250 in reimbursement for tuition and fees to SEIU 1021 members enrolled in qualifying healthcare education programs. In addition, you may be eligible for a Chromebook laptop to support your program.
Program Details
The Education Fund’s Tuition Support program can provide
reimbursement up to $5,250 maximum to help you start or continue
a healthcare education program – regardless of graduation date.
Tuition Support is provided through reimbursement. Members who
are approved for the program and have already paid eligible
program costs may submit receipts for reimbursement.
Please note approval is not guaranteed and space is limited.
