Solano County members rally to launch “Solano for All” campaign
Over 200 county workers from SEIU Local 1021, IFPTE Local 21, and Stationary Engineers Local 39 gathered on Tuesday, September 16, in front of the Solano County Administration Center in Fairfield. Together, they marched and rallied to launch the “Solano for All” campaign, standing united to protect public services from looming federal cuts.
We chanted, marched, and showed the strength of our solidarity as contract negotiations begin. Our message was clear: Solano County must protect jobs and invest in the services our community relies on.
Elizabeth Harrison, north central regional VP of SEIU 1021 and a Solano County adult protective services social worker, summed it up:
“Our goal was to show solidarity as we enter negotiations. Cuts to programs like Medicaid don’t just affect health care—they ripple across jobs and essential services. We need to protect Solano County’s seniors, people with disabilities, and children who rely on us, and we’re urging County leaders to invest in and improve these services so our communities can thrive.”
