SEIU 1021 Treasurer Amos Eaton is running for re-election to the Board of Retirement at the Sonoma County Employees’ Retirement Association (SCERA). SCERA is a public employee retirement system that provides retirement, disability, death, and survivor benefits for employees of Sonoma County, Sonoma Valley Fire District, and the Superior Court of California at Sonoma County.

Amos first ran for the Board of SCERA in 2021. He promised to make sure SCERA’s top priority was focusing on the needs of our retired public servants, not on the needs of Sonoma County management. He ran on protecting Sonoma County employees’ hard-earned benefits, improving retiree pension plans, and investing in pension funds while being mindful of positive social and environmental impacts.

In the last two years, Amos has proven to be a fierce advocate for workers in Sonoma County. Amos stood up and made the conversation about cost-of-living-adjustment raises for Sonoma County’s retirees front and center.

If re-elected, Amos will continue to fight for Sonoma County employees’ hard-earned benefits and for pension fund investments to consistently generate financial returns.

Amos reflected, “I am running for re-election because I want to continue the work that I have started. During this last term, I’ve led the conversation to bring cost-of-living-adjustments to our retired members, and to fund a retirement COLA for our active members.  I’d like to see it through. In addition, I will continue my work looking out for the financial wellbeing of SCERA members, working with staff and other trustees to ensure that SCERA invests its funds in a sustainable and conscious way.”
