SEIU 1021 members at Dixon Unified School District overwhelmingly vote ‘YES’ on new contract
On Tuesday, October 6, SEIU 1021 members at Dixon Unified School District — including administrative support, financial services, food service, information technology, instructional support, maintenance, and operations — voted overwhelmingly in favor of their new successor contract covering July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2028.
The agreement establishes a more competitive salary schedule based on a classification and compensation study, with wage increases ranging from 2% to 21% over the first two years (2025–26 and 2026–27). Classifications with wages furthest behind comparable school districts will receive larger increases. The contract also aligns average increases for the bargaining unit with those negotiated by the Dixon Teachers Association (DTA) for the first two years.
The school board is set to vote on October 15, followed by the County Board of Education. Members will receive further updates as the implementation process moves forward.
“Thanks to member support and the efforts of the negotiations team, we were able to secure the strongest contract possible for our members and the community we serve,” said Chapter Vice President Julie Galindo. “After a year of challenging negotiations, we are proud of what we were able to achieve for our members and look forward to future opportunities to continue to advocate for the backbone of DUSD, our classified workers.”
These gains reflect the collective efforts of SEIU 1021 members to secure better wages, recognition for their service, and stronger workplace protections.
