As working people, we know that when we’re united and active in our union, we have the collective power to negotiate wage increases, protect affordable healthcare for our families, ensure safety and fairness on the job, in addition to securing greater funding for public services.

The wins of SEIU 1021 SFMTA members have been made possible with members all pitching in with our dues and being willing to exercise our voice on the job. Our unity is our strength, because together we are able to accomplish so much more than we would alone.

In our last contract, together we made progress on many of the priorities identified by members and your elected bargaining team to improve recruitment and retention and strengthen the public services we provide.

Nominations are due by July 28. 

Delegates will be elected by unit; the highest vote recipient in a classification will be a delegate on the team.

The Election Committee will be responsible for resolving disputes related to the election. The Election Committee will be comprised of:

• Donna Bautista, 8214 PCO
• Lachanee Ricard, 8214 PCO

REQUIREMENTS OF AN SEIU 1021 BARGAINING TEAM MEMBER

• Must be a member of SEIU 1021.

Must be willing and able to put in the time. Most meetings are during the day where you are released from work duties and paid by the City as a scheduled workday. Often the meetings go into the evening and are sometimes on weekends. You don’t lose pay, but you also do not get overtime and sometimes work more than 8 hours in a day. If you are sick or unable to attend more than 3 times in a row, an alternate will be called in to replace you.

• Must be willing to learn new things.
• Must represent all members, not just their chapter or classification.

Must be committed to sharing information with coworkers and work collaboratively with the Contract Action Team (CAT). This involves updates, meetings and listening as well as talking.
