12/6/25 Overpaid CEO Act Campaign kickoff
We’re very excited to share that our union is joining a broad coalition to win a big investment in San Francisco’s public services. We are collecting signatures to place the Overpaid CEO Act on the June 2026 ballot, and our campaign kicks off on Saturday, December 6! This is the path to protecting our jobs and the residents we serve from potentially devastating federal cuts.

The Overpaid CEO Act taxes corporations whose highest-paid
executive makes more than 100 times what their median worker
earns. Only a handful of the largest corporations would pay (with
at least 1,000 employees and over $1 billion in total
revenues), not small businesses or working people. And
most of these corporations have received federal tax
breaks.
The Overpaid CEO Act is projected to bring in over $200 million a
year to fund critical public services. With our city’s
budget projected to lose hundreds of millions annually due to
federal cuts, this is a critical measure to protect the services
we provide.
The first step is to gather enough signatures to qualify for the
ballot next year. To do that, we need your help. On
December 6, after being trained and hearing from special guest
speakers, volunteers will be dispatched in teams to various
public places to talk to voters and collect signatures. This is
your chance to make a difference for our city and our
services.
In Solidarity,
Local SEIU 1021
