Vote Amos Eaton for SCERA Trustee

Post

SEIU 1021 member and localwide Treasurer Amos Eaton is running for a seat on the Sonoma County Employees’ Retirement Association (SCERA) Board.

The elected trustees of SCERA are responsible for the stewardship of our retirement security. It’s a tremendous responsibility and a role we need to fill with people who are going to speak up for the needs of current and future retirees.

Electing union members to our retirement boards is critical to growing our pension fund in socially conscious and responsible ways which benefit everyone. That’s why it’s important to vote Amos Eaton for SCERA Trustee in the upcoming election.

By March 16, 2021 SCERA will mail to each eligible voter a ballot containing the names of qualified nominees. Completed ballots must be returned to the Registrar of Voters at 435 Fiscal Drive, Santa Rosa, CA 95403 prior to 5:00 p.m. on April 6, 2021.

Electing Amos to the SCERA Board will add a proven leader who will fight to:

  • Protect our hard-earned benefits and make sure they’re there for us in retirement;

  • Oppose cuts to public employee pensions and work to create a Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) to put more money into the pockets of retirees;

  • Invest our pension funds in ways that will generate strong financial returns and be mindful of positive social and environmental impacts.

As Treasurer of SEIU Local 1021, Amos manages the budget of a 60,000-member union and leads on decisions related to financial investments, resource management, and employee benefits.

As a longtime advocate for workers in Sonoma County, Amos is focused on making sure that SCERA’s top priority is focusing on the needs of our retired public servants—not on the needs of Sonoma County management.

With this experience and dedication, Amos will bring the leadership we need to safeguard our retirement security and amplify the voice of County workers and retirees in SCERA decision-making.
