We are looking for an experienced finance and accounting professional to fill our Finance Manager position and lead our progressive organization’s day-to-day finance operations.

The Role: 
At our organization, we believe a strongly run finance department and a strong resource management organizational culture are critical to building an effective and sustainable justice movement. As the direct report to our Finance Director, our Finance Manager is our primary staff leader and accounting expert to streamline our finance and accounting operations. In this role, the Finance Manager is responsible for the following:

  1. Creating an organizational culture of financial responsibility and strategic management of members’ resources
  2. Modernizing departmental operations
  3. Leveraging organizational resources and finance-related opportunities
  4. Managing, administering, and reviewing payroll, reimbursements, accounts payable/receivable, and monthly/annual closing
  5. Ensuring compliance with GAAP, organizational policies, and federal/state requirements
  6. Leading, developing, and improving the performance of your finance and accounting team
  7. Leading and project managing finance projects 
  8. Assist in providing professional finance expertise
  9. Creating complex finance and accounting reports and analyses

Pay and Benefits:
Our salary range for the Finance Manager starts at $102,911.17.  We pay a competitive salary based on qualifications and experience. In addition, we provide a generous benefits package, including 3 weeks of paid vacation, fully paid Kaiser medical, and a retirement pension.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with concentration or coursework in accounting or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • 4 years experience in finance and/or accounting
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience and ability as a strong communicator, collaborator, and team player
  • Proficiency with Windows, Word, Excel, and ability to become proficient at other required computer programs

Requirements:

  • Salaried position; may require nonstandard work hours and/or weekend and holiday work
  • Extensive travel may be required, primarily within Northern California
  • Must possess a valid California driver’s license; must pass a DMV check and have a good driving record; must have auto insurance that covers business driving (minimum of $100,000 per person/$300,000 per incident bodily injury liability/$50,000 property coverage); and must possess an automobile for business use
  • Proof of Full Vaccination is required for this position
