Celebrate PRIDE Month with the SEIU 1021 Lavender Committee
As we approach the end of PRIDE month, we want to highlight an amazing list of local PRIDE events SEIU 1021 Lavender Solidarity Committee Co-Chairs Sally Buchmann and Eileen Berkun put together for our LGBTQ+ members and supporters.

The mission of the Lavender Solidarity Committee (LSC) is to advocate for Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgender/Queer/Questioning(LGBTQ) rights within the union and at the workplace. We work to educate union members and employers about issues of sexual orientation and gender identity, and to make sure our concerns are included in all aspects of union work, including contract bargaining, workplace rights, healthcare benefits and political action.
The LSC is open to all SEIU 1021 members. If you are interested in joining the committee or supporting their work, the committee meets every other month (alternating with the Women’s Solidarity Committee,) on the first Wednesday at 7:00 PM, by Zoom. They’ve expanded the festival to TWO weeks, commissioned all-NEW work especially for their Anniversary, scoured the archives to bring you gorgeous past performances, and are offering the entire festival to you for FREE! All programs are Closed-Captioned.
Join the Fresh Meat Festival for two weeks of exquisite, inspiring dance, theater, and live music – featuring more than 40 ARTISTS & ENSEMBLES performing bachata, blues, bomba, sizzling hip-hop, jaw-dropping vogue, trans & queer mariachi, contemporary R&B, queer dance-theater … along with award-winning wordsmith poets, disabled dance pioneers, world champion queer ballroom and MORE!
All programs are FREE – but during ticket registration, you can add an optional donation: 100% of donations will go toward Artist Fees!

Alice B. Toklas Democratic Club Pride Dinner | June 24, 2021
Join the Alice B. Toklas LGBTQ Democratic Club on Thursday, June 24 for an evening of entertainment, inspiration, and activism. The event will take place in a virtual format with sponsorship opportunities – including gift cards to cover dinner delivery. Past events featured speakers including Kamala Harris, Nancy Pelosi, and London Breed. We can’t wait to announce this year’s lineup.
PRC Pride Brunch | June 26, 2021
Join the PRC for Gary Virginia and Donna Sachet’s Pride Brunch 2021, A Taste of San Francisco Pride, with Gary and Donna visiting their favorite iconic sites across the City. This very special virtual event will celebrate San Francisco Pride with a welcome from Mayor London Breed, the Grand Marshals of the Pride Parade, online auction, entertainment, and much more!
All proceeds from the event support PRC’s HIV/AIDS and behavioral health services for those most vulnerable in our community.
