The Mayor offered all City Unions a 4-year extension with a guaranteed 12% increase and no layoff guaranteed until 2029. There will also be a super-charged citywide Labor Management Committee to address major worksite issues that may come up throughout the length of the extension.

Due to federal and state-level funding cuts and the city’s lagging recovery, the Mayor believes this extension is designed to support the city’s economic recovery, provide some financial certainty and job security for the city’s workforce.
