San Joaquin County bargaining update #1
Jan. 28, 2026
On Wednesday, Jan. 28 your Bargaining Team met for the first time with the San Joaquin County Bargaining Team. We proposed ground rules, set future meeting dates, passed 19 proposals and had some opening discussions on the state of the County and what the financial outlook is over the next 3 years. Please take a look at the attachment on this page where you will see what your bargaining team has proposed.
The County and union signed off on ground rules, Sections 1.7 granting release time for new employee orientation, Section 3.4.3.3 deleting the language for flexible holidays, and Section 10.3.1 in the Para Pro contract adding two classes for boot allowance.
You must remember, these are proposals and it takes both sides to get an agreement. Some proposals may be accepted as written, some proposals may be rejected, and some proposals may look different in order to come to an agreement. We are committed to keeping our members fully informed about what is being proposed, what the responses from the County are, and what steps or help we may need from you in the future.
We have also scheduled future dates with the County on Feb. 17, Feb. 26, and Mar. 10. Be on the lookout for future updates and perhaps even a work site meeting to meet members of your bargaining team.
