Help make our 2022 SEIU 1021 toy drive a success for Bay Area families

Join SEIU 1021, IFPTE Local 21, and nonprofit community partners around Northern California in filling up a school bus (gracefully loaned from Hayward Unified School District) with thousands of toys for children in underserved communities. In the past five years alone, the SEIU 1021 Toy Drive has successfully collected and distributed more than 10,000 toys. Due to the effects of the pandemic and inflation, we anticipate this year’s requests for toys will be higher than ever, so please contribute if you’re able.

Our kickoff event for this toy drive is Dec. 8th at our 100 Oak St. from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., Mayor-elect Sheng Thao will be there to meet City of Oakland workers and take photos. While we know it’s not the easiest time to come out for many of our members, it’s a great cause and a wonderful opportunity to congratulate our new pro-worker Mayor.

We are accepting donations of brand-new, not gift-wrapped, toys that you or your chapter may drop off at our selected office locations. We’ll be accepting donations until Dec. 12th.

We also need volunteers to assist in bringing holiday smiles to small faces this season. Please contact Sandra Lewis, VP of Representation at Sandra.Lewis@seiu1021.org or by cell at (510) 388-2505 if you would like to volunteer or need additional information.

You can call the Member Resource Center to confirm office hours for toy drop-off at 1-877-687-1021.
