Bargaining update #10
Wednesday, May 20, 2026

Article

Your bargaining team met with the County today. We went through all of the proposals that the union submitted and still have not received responses on  that in and of itself took up the entire morning.

After break, the County delivered another package proposal, much the same as the one we rejected. We took some time to discuss, and gave the County a counter-package which included the following:

Wages 2 years:

  • 7% in the first year
  • 6.5% in the second year

Longevity proposal:

  • 1% at 10 years
  • 2% at 15 years
  • 3% at 20 years

Juneteenth as a regular Holiday restrictions on the amount of hours part time workers can work in a week while also maintaining eligibility for health care benefits, an adjustment to the Communications Dispatcher salary scale to restore the correct salary spreads. The County said that they would do this so we included it in the package and to move all health care premium splits to 85/15 (they are currently 80/20) starting in January of 2027.

Again, these are proposals and need both sides to agree before they become final. The bargaining team feels that this will redirect the focus to benefit the most members of the bargaining units. We will meet again with the County on Wednesday, May 27 at the union hall.
