The Election Committee has decided to have this election electronically. You will be able to vote by SMS text or by email. When voting begins, you will receive a text (to your personal cell phone) and an email (to your personal email) with your ballot. You will only be able to vote one time either by text or email.  Please contact the MRC at 1-877-687-1021 if you need to update your cell phone or personal email by Friday, Oct. 9  at 5 p.m.

• Nominations Open Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 8 a.m.
• Nominations Close Wednesday, Sept. 30  at 4:30 p.m.
• Nominations will be confirmed Oct. 2 - Oct. 9
• Oct. 14: list of Candidates with a statement of 200 words or less/photo (if provided by candidate by Oct. 9)
• Election starts on Monday, Oct. 26 at 8 a.m. and closes on Thursday, Oct. 29t at 5 p.m.
• Results will be posted Friday, October. 30 by 5 p.m.

 San Joaquin County Chapter Board Election rules

Campaigning: Cannot be done on work time, other than during breaks and lunchtime, and no employer resources may be used in campaigning, including but not limited to use of County email.

Challenges: Challenges to or disputes arising from a Chapter election must be submitted to the Chapter Election Committee within three (3) working days of the submission of the committee’s election report to the Chapter Board. Challenges must be submitted in writing and must cite specific violation(s) of the Chapter election rules and procedures, Chapter bylaws, or the Local 1021 Bylaws and Constitution. Challenges to the election will be considered valid only if they cite specific violations of election rules and procedures, Chapter bylaws, or the Local 1021 Bylaws and Constitution and if the alleged violation may have affected the outcome of the election. The Chapter Election Committee shall investigate and resolve challenges within ten (10) working days of receipt of challenge. The Election Committee may order a re-run of all or part of the election.

Appeals: Challenges or disputes which are denied or cannot be resolved by the Chapter Election Committee may be appealed in writing to the Local 1021 Executive Board within five (5) working days of receipt of the Chapter Election Committee’s decision. The Local 1021 Executive Board shall investigate and respond within fifteen (15) working days of receipt of the challenge. Challenges to the election will be considered valid only if they cite specific violations of the Chapter election rules and procedures, Chapter bylaws, or the Local 1021 Bylaws and Constitution and if the alleged violation may have affected the outcome of the election.
