March 5, 2024, Endorsements
Let’s elect pro-labor candidates and pass measures that help our communities!

Each election, SEIU 1021 members endorse candidates who will stand with us as we fight to win strong contracts and protect working standards.

Winning for our members is important. We do this by volunteering in elections and contributing to our Committee on Political Education (COPE) funds.

We urge members to participate in phone banking, canvassing, and other outreach initiatives to help us elect candidates who will fight for us and pass measures that will benefit workers across Northern California.

Click the links below to see what candidates and measures SEIU 1021 members have endorsed for the March 5, 2024 election, and see our upcoming volunteer opportunities here.

San Francisco 2024 Citywide Campaign Kickoff – Jan. 17
Join us at City Hall at noon on Jan. 17 to send a strong message that we are united for a great contract to address the City's biggest needs, including staffing & privatization

As we head into contract negotiations in 2024, we face pessimistic budget projections and corporations panhandling for more tax breaks that would further decimate funding for the vital public services we provide.

We need to join together in a show of force to tell City Hall we’ll fight for what the city and its workers need over corporate greed!

Please join us at noon on Jan. 17, 2024, at City Hall for a huge campaign kickoff rally with our City labor partners and allies.

An Invaluable San Francisco Institution Is Saved, Thanks to Hard Work and Partnership
Statement from SEIU 1021 President Theresa Rutherford on Laguna Honda Hospital’s Approval for Medi-Cal Recertification

Today is an exciting day for SEIU 1021 members at Laguna Honda Hospital: After over a year of hard work, Laguna Honda has been approved for recertification by the Medi-Cal program, which over 95% of our patients rely on. This victory cannot be overstated. It not only means that Laguna Honda’s doors will remain open, that our medically fragile patients will not be shipped elsewhere to their detriment, and that our members will keep their jobs.

With another disastrous ruling, the Supreme Court undermines equity and opportunity for people of color
Statement on Supreme Court decision on Students for Fair Admissions, Inc. v. University of North Carolina (UNC) and Students for Fair Admissions, Inc. v. President and Fellows of Harvard College by SEIU 1021 President Theresa Rutherford

One year after attacking women’s right to self-determination, today the activist conservative majority of the Supreme Court has once again proven its contempt for Black and brown people in its decision on the Students for Fair Admissions, Inc. v. University of North Carolina (UNC) and Students for Fair Admissions, Inc. v. President and Fellows of Harvard College case.
