We Have a Tentative Agreement!
After Our Massive Info Picket, Late On Thursday Night, Our Elected Bargaining Team Signed a TA with Alameda County!
It took months of bargaining, and multiple actions all across the County, but we now have a TA with Alameda County!
This agreement addresses our core issues and will allow us to recruit, to retain, and to Staff Up Alameda County. Look out for more details via email and on seiu1021.org/alaco.
The three-year contract includes:
SEIU 1021 Dixon Unified Chapter Strike Assessment
To get the contract we need to retain and recruit staff at Dixon Unified, we are going to have to take collective action to show we are UNITED and ready to FIGHT! It will take ALL OF US!
Despite our bargaining team’s hard work over 11 months of
negotiations, the Dixon Unified School District has not settled a
fair contract with their classified employees. Despite giving
huge raises to administrators, the District is only offering a 3%
raise for classified staff (in addition to the 5% that was given
in June of 2022). Dixon USD has $2.73 million above the reserves
required by the State of California, but they are refusing to
give us a fair contract.
Responses due by April 14, 2023.
Port Management Wants Us To Settle For Low Wages, Unfair Discipline, And NO RIGHT TO STRIKE
To win a fair contract, we need to show management that we’re sticking together and willing to do what it takes. Our elected Bargaining Team is asking every member to come to Strike School and vote YES to authorize a strike, if it becomes necessary.

Strong leaders build strong unions!
Alta California Regional Center chapter swears in 17 new stewards
When union members step into leadership roles, good things happen! Recently, chapter members of Alta California Regional Center, an organization that provides services and support to individuals with disabilities across Northern California, put worker power into action. On March 22, during their general membership meeting, the chapter swore in 17 members as stewards.
Strong leadership is crucial to building a robust union on all levels. And with so many members at Alta in steward roles now, their fellow members will be even better represented.
Info Picket: Noon on Thursday, March 30, 1221 Oak St., Oakland
To Win a Fair Contract, We Have To Act NOW
We’ve been bargaining with Alameda County for months, and have met with them dozens of times.
We’ve made progress and signed some Tentative Agreements (TAs) that will improve working conditions across the county, but management is still not making acceptable offers on our most important issues.
