Seven Chapter Officer Positions Open for Election:
All Chapter Officers Shall Serve Two-year Terms (The term of office for these officers shall end March 31, 2026). The member running for office must have been a member in good standing for at least one (1) year and be employed within a bargaining unit represented by the Chapter.

City of Oakland workers are are in a crisis of unsafe working conditions. Department after department has reported attacks, abuse, and unsafe assignments.

According to our contract (Section 8.4.2.8, pages 72-3), you can get Traumatic Incident leave if you witness or are involved in a traumatic incident (including stalking, threats, violence, and more).

Just after 11 p.m., Monday, June 26, Oakland City Council passed its two-year budget.
Interfaith In the Park: A Community-Building Event for Deep East Oakland
Saturday, June 24: Noon - 3 p.m., Arroyo Viejo Park Amphitheater, 7701 Krause Ave.
Interfaith in the Park is a great opportunity for community building, spiritual healing, and outreach as One Oakland. The Interfaith in the Park event will provide free safety, wellness, and job resources to our leaders in Deep East Oakland. There will be music, food, remarks from the Mayor, and a meet and greet with the new City Administrator.

Mayor Sheng Thao’s historic budget puts City workers and the community first. It values Oakland’s workforce and strives to maintain the services Oakland residents need, with investments in affordable housing, youth programs, clean, safe streets, and public safety.

On Wednesday, May 3, Mayor Sheng Thao presented her budget to the Oakland City Council and the public. Working people united in SEIU 1021 and other community members were there to show their support.

Our SEIU 1021 COVID Leave Expires March 31
During our last contract negotiations, SEIU 1021 members fought for and won an additional five (5) days of COVID leave for full-time workers. Parttime workers have pro-rated days of leave based on their schedules. This leave expires on March 31, and cannot be used after that time.
