SEIU 1021 Dixon Unified Chapter Strike Assessment
To get the contract we need to retain and recruit staff at Dixon Unified, we are going to have to take collective action to show we are UNITED and ready to FIGHT! It will take ALL OF US!

Despite our bargaining team’s hard work over 11 months of negotiations, the Dixon Unified School District has not settled a fair contract with their classified employees. Despite giving huge raises to administrators, the District is only offering a 3% raise for classified staff (in addition to the 5% that was given in June of 2022). Dixon USD has $2.73 million above the reserves required by the State of California, but they are refusing to give us a fair contract.

Recently, chapter members of Alta California Regional Center, an organization that provides services and support to individuals with disabilities across Northern California, put worker power into action. On March 22, during their general membership meeting, the chapter swore in 17 members as stewards.

Strong leadership is crucial to building a robust union on all levels. And with so many members at Alta in steward roles now, their fellow members will be even better represented.

When We Fight, We WIN!

On Tuesday, March 14, more than 100 of us marched on the Board of Supervisors and demanded they fix Alameda County’s staffing crisis. The following Thursday, we signed some big Tentative Agreements and management improved their healthcare proposal.

New Tentative Agreements

  • Holidays: We kept Lincon’s Birthday!
  • Improved sick leave, with better review and more days for sick family members

We are still working on wages, longevity, telework, and more!
