March 7 International Women’s Day Action in SF
March & Rally - 1 South Van Ness, SF
Income inequality hurts all of us but attacks on the public services and programs that we provide hurt women disproportionately. Women are still 35 percent more likely than men to be in poverty in America.
In honor of International Women’s Day, join us in a march and rally to urge Mayor London Breed and our Board of Supervisors to do the right thing: strengthen our city’s poverty and homelessness prevention programs, prioritize services to women and families, and negotiate a fair contract with workers.
Alameda County Bargaining Update
March 6, 2019
Members Make the Case for Salary Adjustments
Members representing 33 classifications made
Salary Adjustment presentations to the County to demonstrate
the need for salary adjustments.
This is the largest number of presentations for salary
adjustments in any contract year. While there is no guarantee any
classification that presented will receive a salary adjustment,
the presentations created an opportunity for consideration by the
County for salary adjustments if a contract extension agreement
is reached and ratified.

Alameda County Bargaining Update
Feb. 8, 2019
On February 8th your bargaining team held their second meeting with management to discuss a possible contract extension. We expect management to propose wage increases the next session.
The proposal was largely the same as the proposal the members voted on in 2018, with one significant difference: The County is no longer seeking to implement a “Vacation Hard Cap” on all county employees. This proposal was a source of confusion and frustration in 2018, and your bargaining team is very happy to see that proposal disappear.
SEIU 1021 City of Oakland Members: Meet Your Elected Bargaining Team
Your elected Bargaining Team met with the City for the first time on Wednesday, February 6. At the City’s suggestion, the parties discussed a possible two-year extension of the existing contract, which is set to expire on June 30, 2019. Discussions are continuing and no agreements have been reached.
Be on the lookout for future updates by email, our City of Oakland Chapter Member Facebook group, here on the SEIU 1021 website, and at your work site.
