It’s time to make a plan to vote!
Ballots are landing, and Election Day is less than a month away.
With a vital midterm election coming up, SEIU 1021 members have an important opportunity to elect their own bosses, by voting for pro-worker candidates and initiatives. Ballots are already landing in mailboxes now, and it’s every union member’s responsibility to make a plan to vote: filling out the ballot and returning it by mail or by dropping it off in an official drop box. (Find a drop box near you by clicking here.)

Leading up to the November 8 general election, we’re sitting down with SEIU 1021 member leaders across Northern California to talk about what’s at stake for workers like us whose employers are (or are funded in large part by) elected leaders.
This week, we’re talking to North Central Regional Vice President Akbar Bibb about what is top of mind for him as the general election approaches and with many bargaining units in the midst of contentious contract negotiations.

Sign up to support The California Schools and Local Communities Funding Act
Closing the Corporate Property Tax Loophole for billionaires and wealthy corporations would fund our schools and local communities while protecting homeowners, residential renters, agricultural land, and small businesses.
We can restore over $12 billion to schools, community colleges, and other services SEIU 1021 members provide for our parks, libraries, emergency response services, health clinics, trauma centers, roads, homeless services, and beyond.
Yes, I want to help pass The California Schools and Local Communities Funding Act!
Celebrate Labor Day by voting NO on the anti-union recall of Governor Newsom
On Labor Day, we commemorate the history of the labor movement and celebrate the victories working folks won had in our fight for fair wages and benefits, dignity and respect at work, and a better life for all of our families. The challenges of COVID-19 have shown just how essential union members are—from the very beginning, we’ve staffed the frontlines to keep our neighbors safe and our communities running.
Call CA Senators Dianne Feinstein and Alex Padilla and demand massive federal relief
SEIU members and staff across California are making calls to urge Senators Dianne Feinstein and Alex Padilla to pass the $1.9 trillion stimulus package and to raise the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour. Our communities need strong public services, unemployment benefits, an equitable vaccination roll-out, and aid that cannot wait.

Make A Difference--Volunteer Now!
Now, just like in every election year, we need to elect candidates and pass measures that will protect those vital services and honor our work. But this year, the stakes are higher than they have ever been.
We understand the importance of winning the economic, racial, environmental, and immigrant justice that we all deserve. That is why we participate in the political process by volunteering and voting for these endorsements to help elect candidates and pass measures that bring us closer to that goal.
Make a difference: Volunteer Now!
It is Election Day! Volunteer to get the vote out locally, and in the battleground state of Nevada– where early voting numbers are lower than expected.
We are asking members to participate in phone banking and other outreach initiatives to help us elect candidates who will fight for us and pass measures that will benefit working families.
