Help make the holidays bright for kids in need
SEIU 1021's annual toy drive is underway!
November 29, 2021: As you know, needy families in our community already go without basic essentials for their loved ones, especially during the holidays. SEIU 1021’s annual toy drive is back, and we are asking for your help to put smiles on these families’ faces.
Our goal is to collect new toys and/or gift cards to children ages infant to 12 years old. With your generous support, we will be able to help many of these families to have a joyous holiday.
Please let us know if you are able make toy donations or help gather gifts.

As Strikesgiving rolls on, Stationary Engineers continue their fight for a fair contract at Kaiser
November 29, 2021: Stationary Engineers Local 39, which represents about 700 structural and biomedical engineers at Kaiser facilities throughout Northern California, went on strike at midnight on Friday, September 17. The work of Local 39 members is essential to keeping our hospitals running. They repair and maintain critical medical equipment, as well as the hospital itself, including all the electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and heating and air-conditioning systems across the medical centers.
A statement from President Joseph Bryant on the verdict in the Ahmaud Arbery trial
“Today, a jury in Georgia found Travis McMichael, Gregory McMichael, and William Bryan Jr. guilty of the murder of Ahmaud Arbery. This conviction gets right what our justice system too often gets wrong by affirming the right of Black people and people of color to live free from intimidation, violence, and murder.
Across Northern California, SEIU 1021 members pass out turkey dinners to working families
Every year, SEIU 1021 members volunteer their time in the holiday
spirit of giving thanks and giving back to working families.
This year was no different, as members passed out turkey
dinners at 11 union halls across Northern California to SEIU
1021 members who needed or wanted them.
All around Northern California at various SEIU 1021 offices,
member leaders and staff joyfully and tirelessly served
Thanksgiving dinners to members via a car caravan dropoff
system.
Fast-food workers and community allies rally in support of the FAST Recovery Act
Last week hundreds of fast-food workers refused to show up to work for a day, went on strike, and instead took to the streets to demand public officials stand with the labor movement and vote “yes” on Assembly Bill 257.
