In race to the bottom, Pizza Hut operators lay off 1,200 delivery drivers
In the latest edition of “Multibillion Dollar Corporations Crying About Why They Can’t Pay a Living Wage,” two large Pizza Hut operators, PacPizza, LLC, and Southern California Pizza Co., have announced they are eliminating over 1,200 in-house delivery positions.

In the Midwest, 150,000 auto workers went on strike for several months, leading to historic contract gains and inspiring non-union autoworkers to organize. In the South, the labor movement has found new life as service workers across multiple industries have united with the Union of Southern Service Workers to raise the South’s minimum wage. Across the nation, more than 9,000 Starbucks employees have unionized at more than 380 Starbucks stores.
HealthRIGHT 360 members ratify strong statewide contract
SEIU 1021 members at HealthRIGHT 360 joined forces with their coworkers across the state to negotiate a strong new contract to address short staffing and turnover. Late last month, they ratified the contract by an overwhelming 98%.
