Alameda County Committee on Political Education Presented a Zoom Forum: “How to COPE”
On Sunday, March 20, members of SEIU 1021’s Alameda County Committee on Political Education (COPE) hosted a public forum entitled “How to COPE.” The forum was an introduction to what COPE does and how it does it, from how meetings are run to how the endorsement process works and more.
Chris Naso, a legislative assistant with the City of Berkeley, said, “For newer members, the facets of our local are vast and sometimes confusing or intimidating; it was an absolute privilege to learn directly from our member leaders about how COPE works.”

Our Joint Strike with SCTA Is Set to Begin Next Wednesday, March 23
Big thanks to the hundreds of you who came out to our rally with
our union sisters and brothers from SCTA at the school board
yesterday. Between our two unions and a fantastic outpouring of
support from parents, community members, and other Sacramento
area union members, we had roughly 2,500 people in attendance.

We Ratified Our Tentative Agreement UNANIMOUSLY!
Big thanks to everyone who voted to ratify our tentative agreement! We are excited to report back that the TA was ratified unanimously. That’s right–you voted by 100% to ratify!
That means that once the OUSD Board of Education and Alameda County Office of Education approve the TA in the coming weeks, this will become our new contract.

Asian Health Services Reach Tentative Agreement After Long Negotiation
October 12, 2021: After a lot of hard work, effort, and patience, SEIU 1021 members at Asian Health Services (AHS) have finally reached a tentative agreement (TA) with management! The TA includes eight percent in raises over the next two years, as well as some equity adjustments for certain classifications and improvements in contract language around grievance and arbitration, sick leave, and more.
