Stand Up and Speak Out!
Wednesday, March 27 at 4:00 pm at SF City Hall, Room 305
Wear your purple and speak out before the Mayor’s Task Force on the Minimum Compensation Ordinance (MCO).
Nonprofit workers and our community and labor allies fought hard to get City leaders to prioritize raising nonprofit wages, but we must make sure the Task Force raises the wages of everyone —from the lowest paid workers to those who are responsible for leading programs at nonprofits. Together we must make sure that nonprofit workers who step into positions with increased responsibilities are compensated accordingly.

Protections for California Renters, Including Rent Control, Could Be A Reality
Housing costs are skyrocketing, and many Californians want to make renter protections a reality. The majority of California’s 17 million renters do not have access to stable and affordable housing. Over half of California renters are rent-burdened, meaning they spend over 30 percent of their income on rent, and one-third of renters spend over 50 percent of their income on rent. 160,000 families appear in eviction court annually.

Sonoma County Workers Fight for a Fair Contract
Tuesday, March 12th, hundreds of Sonoma County workers gathered for a rally and swarmed the County Administration building where members of the Board of Supervisors were meeting regarding the contract negotiations.

It’s time to protect and improve our contract with the City.
We have elected a Bargaining Team to represent us in negotiations with City management, but strong contracts are won at every work site. Our ability to win depends on our willingness to act.
You can help us stand up and win by joining the Contract Action Team (CAT). CAT members from each department, at every work site, will:
Santa Clara University Faculty and Allies Rally Outside the Golden Circle Fundraiser to say “Let Us Unionize. Let us Vote!”
On January 19, 2019 at the San Jose Center for Performing Arts,more than 100 faculty, students and community supporters were outside the black-tie Golden Circle fundraiser in support of SCU adjuncts and lecturers voting on whether or not to join together in a union.
