After a five-hour hearing on Tuesday, October 20, featuring statements from AHS management and many AHS workers, the Alameda County Board of Supervisors voted to demand the resignation of the current Alameda Health System Board of Trustees.
This is a huge step forward for the members’ fight for a fair contract and a public healthcare system that works for the community and its employees.

Vallejo, California – SEIU Local 1021 formally withdraws its endorsement of Hakeem Brown for mayor of Vallejo. The decision to withdraw the endorsement was made democratically by union members after a meeting with the candidate following media reports about the candidate’s history of domestic violence.

SEIU California Endorses Kevin de León for U.S. Senate
Sacramento, CA – The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) California today announced the 700,000-member union’s endorsement of Kevin de León to represent California in the United States Senate. The endorsement was announced after SEIU California members from across the state participated in the union’s One Voice Town Hall, where members met with the candidates, asked their questions, and then made their selection for the candidate they’ll support now through November.
