119 California Autism Foundation (C.A.F.) workers in Richmond, California to join SEIU 1021!

The NLRB reported the vote count Tuesday, November 22, as a 62-29 victory in the organizing effort at C.A.F.

Started in 1982, C.A.F. serves 220 people in seven different programs including, a day program and three group homes. Grace Vergara, the Campaign’s Coordinator, began this effort back on September 9. Her favorite moment was “When the workers first saw all the charts in our office. Seeing them bring their kids It reminded me it’s about them & their families.” She states this campaign reminded her of the Head Start campaign in San Diego where the workers were also treated badly but wanted the union very much.

Now the next step is the transition with the Internal Department. The Internal team will help them to get a contract.
