"The Board of Supervisors is the 'Boss' of the Board of Trustees. If we want to make REAL changes at ACMC, we have to go the 'Boss'!"

On September 30th, SEIU 1021 members informed the Alameda County Board of Supervisors about the lay-offs scheduled throughout ACMC. Alameda County Supervisors were appalled that even though they gave Wright Lassiter, CEO, $8 million in August for ACMC, he failed to inform them he was authorizing lay-offs and reorganizing services.

ACMC Nurses Fight for Quality Patient Care
ACMC_RN_CAT_v2
On Thursday, July 31st, 2008, over 25 members of the ACMC RN Bargaining Team and Contract Action Team (CAT) met, discussed and approved next steps for their contract campaign. Nurses were excited and enthusiastic about sending a clear message to ACMC management that they are ready to fight for quality patient care in their community. After discussing the future of public health in Alameda County, and general healthcare in the United States, nurses took assignments and committed to fight for their best contract yet!
The next CAT meeting is scheduled for August 14, 2008 at 5:30pm at 155 Myrtle Street.
