Members Are The Best Organizers!
I'm already a member of SEIU 1021. Why should I care about organizing new members?Organizing non-union workers protects us from being pitted against them. Employers everywhere are trying to contract out work to cheaper labor, which results in a race to the bottom for today's working families. Organizing those with whom we would otherwise be competing protects OUR wages and benefits by improving THEIRS.
Doesn't the union have organizers? Why am I needed?You are our best and most credible voice. When non-union workers hear from someone who actually works a union job, they get it. It means more to them when they hear from people who actually work in a job like their own. This is why we need you to get involved!
