Organize State Workers in CO

The 1021 Organizing Department is seeking volunteers for two weeks in February to help Colorado state employees build a union of their own.

When has playing in the snow seemed so worthwhile?

From February 11-23 you can work side by side with public service employees throughout the state who recently won the right to organize, giving them a solid new foundation for improving their pay, benefits, and the public services the residents of their state rely upon. What's more, helping Colorado state employees benefits us too: Not only does it build alliances in the public sector, but the union movement everywhere grows stronger when a union anywhere grows strong.

"I'm learning a lot here in Colorado. I believe workers deserve to be in a union to ensure improvements on the job," says Richetta Bottom, a 1021 member in the Peralta Community College District.
