Advanced Shop Steward Training - San Francisco

Course Description:

One of the biggest responsibilities of a shop steward is representing union members who face disciplinary
action. Surveys have shown that half of employer disciplines of public employees have no merit. In this intensive, comprehensive course, you’ll learn how to talk to (and calm down) members facing discipline, investigate charges, prepare a response to the charges, and present the union case at a Skelly or grievance hearing. In addition to the disciplinary process, this course will also teach you how to organize around issues. You will learn basic tools on how to evaluate problems, identify leaders, and plan worksite actions.

Note:  Training courses are subject to cancellation due to lack of registrations.  Also, RSVP's are subject to be declined, if maximum capacity of participants has been reached.

Evening trainings:  Dinner & Registration first half hour.  All-Day trainings:  Breakfast & Registration first half hour, lunch also served.
