Welcome to the Lavender Solidarity Committee webpage!  

The Lavender Solidarity Committee advocates for Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgender (LGBT) rights within the union and at the workplace.   We work to educate union members and employers about issues of sexual orientation and gender identity, and to make sure our concerns are included in all aspects of union work, including contract bargaining, workplace rights, healthcare benefits and political action.   The Lavender Committee is open to all SEIU 1021 members and staff.

Lavender is one of many Solidarity Committees under the umbrella of the 1021 Social and Economic Justice Committee.  SEIU also has Lavender Caucuses at the national and regional levels
