It’s Election Day! Have you voted yet?
Let’s elect pro-labor candidates and pass measures that help our communities!

Article

It is Election Day!  Vote like your job depends on it (because it might).

Now, just like in every election year, we need to elect candidates and pass measures that will protect vital services that serve our community and honor our work.

We understand the importance of winning the economic, racial, environmental, and worker justice that we all deserve. That is why we participate in the political process by volunteering and voting to elect candidates and pass measures that bring us closer to our goals.

Instead of going to the polls on Election Day, you may vote using the vote-by-mail ballot that was sent to you in early February.

After you have voted, insert your ballot in the envelope provided, making sure you complete all required information on the envelope.

The best way to return your completed ballot is by dropping it off in an election drop box, at a polling place:

  • Vote-by-mail ballots that are mailed must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by your county elections office no later than 7 days after Election Day.
  • If you are not sure your vote-by-mail ballot will arrive in time if mailed, bring it to any polling place or official drop box in the state between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.
  • Return it in person to any polling place within the state or the office of your county elections official no later than the close of polls at 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.

Anyone may return your ballot for you, as long as they do not get paid on a per ballot basis. In order for your ballot to be counted, you must fill out the authorization section found on the outside of your ballot envelope.

Each election, SEIU 1021 members endorse candidates who will stand with us as we fight to win strong contracts and protect working standards.

Winning for our members is important. We do this by volunteering in elections and contributing to our Committee on Political Education (COPE) funds.

We urge members to participate in phone banking, canvassing, and other outreach initiatives to help us elect candidates who will fight for us and pass measures that will benefit workers across Northern California.
