Public Health Meltdown in SF
SAN FRANCISCO - This supposedly "progressive" city's Health Commission has approved draconian cuts to public health. Public Health Nurses
(below on right)
have been exposing the drastic impact these cuts will have for San Francisco, and
the SF Chronicle
reported on this story in its
March 3
and
March 5
editions.
We need your help.
Please contact the
Board of Supervisors
and let them know this is an unacceptable assault on the basic human necessities of their constituents.
The threatened cuts include:
• SFGH Workers Comp Clinic,
slated for March 15 elimination
• Public Health Nurses Chronic Care Team,
slated for April 15 elimination
• SFGH Oral Surgery,
slated for April 15 major reductions
• SFGH Elective Surgery,
slated for April 15 major reductions
• Mental Health Clinics Directors,
slated for April 15 elimination
• Busters Place,
slated for April 15 elimination
• Community Non-Profits,
slated for July 1 major reductions
• Laguna Honda Hospital,
slated for July 1 major reductions
